Wednesday 1st June Day 11
My foot feels better today so we will take the bus but no need for a pharmacy. We went over to the bus station and waited. As every bus came in we ask Santo Domingo and the driver says no! We meet up with Sam from Tasmania and his dad also looking for the same bus. He is a wilderness guide and told us lots about Tasmania and what it’s like there. Then the right bus came along! 2.4 euros for both of us, amazingly cheap. 20 minutes later we are there and say goodbye to Sam and Geoffrey. They are walking on but I think we might run into them again. I look at Sam looking after his dad so well and think there should be more Sam’s in the world.
We are early so find a launderette and put our time to good use and wash as much as we can!

The hostel opens at 11 and these are our beds for tonight, you can only see part of the room! Having left our bags we take a walk round town snd run into some of our friends.

Paul and Rose from South Africa who we have known since Orisson. Dierdre and her mum Marion who we met about 4 days ago, they are from Ireland. Good to see them again and at various times in the day we meet up and chat!

The town is beautiful and seems more prosperous than others we have stayed at. More shops open, more locals around.
My foot is not better so over to the pharmacy. She gave me some iodine stuff and special plasters. Now my foot is yellow, let’s hope this is the start of recovery as we are sad not to be walking. Everyone says it’s ok and it’s our own Camino, our way. But it doesn’t feel ok, I feel let down by my foot!!
