I watched the Netflix documentary Seaspiracy. If you google it you will find a lot of conflicting reviews on it. On the one hand it is taking some outdated research and making a very black and white argument about fishing and the impact to the world. On the other if you don't create a simple controversial message then how do you get the message across to most people.

There is a lot of money in fishing and that brings issues. I did learn that those dolphin friendly tins of tuna are not to be trusted - dont eat them. More than 50% of the plastic in the ocean is actually from fishing waste (nets etc). Bycatch - the fish/dolphins they didnt mean to catch and so throw back into the sea dead - accounts for about 40% of what is caught. And nobody really wanted to talk about it - they all seem to be sponsored by companies with a vested interest in continuing the fishing industry as it is. It will make me look at the fish that I buy in future to see where it came from.
