We had to go on the steam railway! I can highly recommend it. We had about an hour on the train in a private carriage - because of Covid you cant share - amazing! They also have a great museum and a falconry centre there - well worth a visit.
We also went to Carisbrooke Castle - again I can highly recommend - it was a bit windy but we did the wall walk and held on!
I also found these red squirrel shaped gingerbreads - which I thought looked great! The Isle of Wight is one of the few places in England that you can still find red squirrels (because there are no grey squirrels here!) - although there is a big effort now to protect them and increase their numbers Donate to our Snaizeholme Appeal - Woodland Trust was just launched today as an example.
I also got good news on the work experience today - I will start on 7th June - a bit earlier than expected but really good to get going on it. Day 2 I am loading a charcoal kiln!
