For my assignment I bought a soil testing kit and thought that I would use it on my garden soil. A bit difficult to see from the photo but the pH was between 6 and 7 - which is about right when I compare it with the soil site information so that's good. The other nutrients were harder to be sure. Nitrogen seemed to be adequate. K potassium a bit deficient and P phosphorous not good at all. Firstly did I do the test correctly? and secondly what does that mean for my garden? More research is needed on that.

I am not actually worried about my garden - everything seems to be doing fine. The only plant that seems to have an issue at the moment is the bergenia (elephants ears) they got hit really hard by the weight of the snow and just dont seem right, but they are extremely tough plants so I am pretty sure they will recover. An interesting experiment but not sure where it goes next!
