Steam day

The theme of today is steam! First over to the Isle of Wight Steam Railway for a First Class ride. It is a great place and has so many volunteers giving their time. As Robin said they don't need a Men's Shed here - they can mend steam engines! Then we went back to Seaview and walked into Ryde to catch the Waverley - the last sea going paddle steamer. It hasnt been to Ryde for over ten years so we were very lucky with our timing to get a ride on it. What a beautiful boat it is - it absolutely gleams in the sun!. The picture of the engine doesnt do it justice - it is enormously powerful and very hot! We had good views of the coast and the forts - it was good that we had walked much the same way yesterday as it gave us a different view of the place. Another wonderful (and hot!) day. We do love it here - must come here more often!
