Story telling

The virtual placement has finished - I am quite sad - it was a really great week. Some really good speakers today and we finished with Lucy McRobert who wrote 365 days wild - Lucy McRobert (365dayswild.com). An interesting talk on the power of story telling and how it can be helpful in changing peoples behaviours and beliefs. Apparently there are only 7 stories - David and Goliath, rags to riches, quest and journey, voyage and return, comedy (the Shakespeare kind!), tragedy and rebirth. Some more relevant to conservation and wildlife stories than others! We also had a talk by Gareth Walters on being your own boss - not for me, I would be grateful to get a job at the end of this but it is not the be all and end all.
