The weather has been terrible so I havent had a chance to go swimming in the sea. So today I decided to try Saltdean Lido Saltdean Lido | Home. Built in 1938 it fell into disrepair as many lidos have done but was quite recently saved and is being slowly refurbished. It is beautiful - 19 degrees (which is warmer than the sea but still pretty cold!). It was very different from Pells as it is a semi circle - so much less space for lane swimming. But there werent too many people there and it was lovely to swim again. I would go back but definitely prefer Pells - partly because I can walk there in 10 minutes rather than have a 20 minute drive!! When I got back I walked up to the Cemetery to join Wildflower Lewes do the New Year Plant Hunt. We had to find plants that were in flower and record them. Well it didnt look promising and in the first half an hour we found 1! But then things looked up and by the end we had found about 16 different species in flower - more than I thought! And it didnt rain on us!
