Over to Combe Mill today for the start of three days delivery to 150 year 10 geography students from Cherwell School. We had about 60 pupils today - split them in to two groups. One session was at the river where they needed to collect a lot of data for their Geography GCSE. We tried to get as many children in the water as possible - lots of waders and wellies available for them an it worked out pretty well. The second group we took on a walk around Combe Mill to show the effect of flooding and the mitigation that is in place. I can honestly say that it was not my favourite day. Teenagers in groups are just not my thing, I don't know how secondary school teachers do it. They are all trying so hard to be cool and show off that they cant focus on anything else. But they seemed to enjoy it and we got good feedback from the teachers - so lets do it all again tomorrow!
