The day after

Late start to the day today! And its a beautiful day - why couldn't it be like this yesterday! I found this photo of the Cliffe firesite (before they burnt it all) and you can see why they kept the public away - they were pumping water off the site for days but it was still a lake! We walked up to the golf club for breakfast and a marvellous view of Lewes and the valley down to Newhaven - it never fails to lift my spirits. It was such a lovely day that we took the bus to Brighton to walk along the front. Although the sun was shining the sea was treacherous - huge waves and really windy but beautiful! The old pier looked amazing as usual - it has survived all the recent storms which is a miracle!
