To Navarette

Monday 30th May 2022 Day 9

We set off at 640 and walked to Lagrona for breakfast. What was a lovely walk for us today in the cool morning would have been hell in the heat yesterday afternoon! We found a stork nest with 2 baby storks that we could see, so exciting to see them! Then in the public gardens on the way into town wax the beautiful Rosa de Camino de Santiago, I will have to look it up when I get back!

By now we we’re pretty desperate for breakfast and a coffee and we Couldn’t find anywhere. Eventually we came to a posh coffee shop so just went in, I wanted a pastry so went round the back of the shop and who did I find?

Arun! We were so pleased to see him and have a final coffee and a chat before we parted ways, how lucky to find him. Then onwards!

We walked through an amazing country park. More red squirrels than I have seen in my life. Walked round a beautiful lake then up the hill to Navarette. It was great to see so many local people using the park. We have now moved to the Rioja area and we can tell by the number of vineyard, looking forwards to some good wine.

And back to feet, the list important part of my body at the moment! The blister on my left foot burst again today and it was a hard walk. The good news is my right foot is ok and I am used to the back pack. Got to look on the bright side.
