We loaded up our backpacks and set off for the next long walk. We walked over to the disused Thames and Severn Canal by way of the Roman amphitheatre in Cirencester - it is the largest one in the UK - its very interesting but maybe not publicized enough. We picked up the canal at Siddington - it is absolutely amazing there - there is no water and you can see the details of the brickwork in two locks - highly recommend going to see it. After that it is a good walk - with water in the canal filled with reeds and wildlife (little egret!!). At the water park we had a lovely sit down and coffee looking over one of the water filled gravel pits - with a very friendly robin near by. Then back to Cirencester on the disused railway path. Over 25km altogether and a welcome pint and glass of wine at the end!
