Wasted day

Terrible day today. I drove to Cirencester - the plan was to go to the house and do a few things then go over to the Old Prison to meet up with Becky from the Cotswold National Landscape.

Not to be! There was a huge accident on the A417 in Swindon about 200 yards in front of me. 8 fire engines, multiple ambulances - hours of waiting while they sorted it all out. Eventually they cleared a lane for us to get out and I rushed around to the Old Prison - lunchtime on a sunny day in August - not a parking place to be had and I wasn't the only one looking. I gave up and went round to the house instead. The sun was out and the garden is lovely - needs a bit of weeding but it will be great.

I found out afterwards that everyone in the cars were OK - which was a relief as there wasn't much left of the cars when I drove past them.
