Water

Paul and Rose live in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. I hadn’t realised what an issue water shortage is in SA. At the moment they are only a few days from Day Zero when the city runs out of water. It should happen while they are away on the Camino.

They have a big rainwater tank and a system of taps and pipes in the house. So they switch to rain water for the washing machine. When they have a shower they put down a bucket to catch the first few litres of cold water before it runs warm and then save that to flush the toilet.

climate change will be interesting as we all have to think and act differently. I can see saving water being a big part of our future.
