Wellington

Monday 5th February 2024

Up early for Chris to pick us up at 610 to catch the ferry to Wellington. This is the view from the boat going through the Sounds. It’s a beautiful area. When we got to Wellington Chris snd Ella took the van to the Airbnb and Robin and I walked. The shorefront is great, they have done a huge regeneration and it looks amazing! We couldn’t get into the Airbnb til 2 so we had a wonder around Wellington, had a great lunch of pasta then went back. Luckily the car parking space was fine for the van, we hadn’t expected that so it was a bonus! The apartment is great, really central but on a quiet street. It is also FULL of Lego models which are amazing. We are under strict instructions not to touch them!!

Later Ella suggested we go for a walk to the park, about 30 minutes she said. What she neglected to tell us is that the park is Mount Victoria with a wonderful view over the whole of Wellington. And a very long steep climb to get to the top!! The view was amazing though so we forgave her! And on the way back we found this really fun slide down!! Off out for an amazing Chinese dinner(loads of Chinese and Malay restaurants here) and we took a quick stop at this Mexican place for margaritas. Great day!!
