We did a lovely circular walk around Lewes today. Along the river then over the top to Landport Bottom (never sure why its called that as it is on the top of the Downs looking over Lewes! I practiced my flower id skills while I was there - much needed for the new job! This is a classic and well looked after chalk grassland. Clockwise from top left - Selfheal, Ladies bedstraw, Agrimony and Restharrow (which is beautiful and I had to look up as I hadnt seen it before). The pop up horse box bar at the top of the hill wasnt open which was disappointing but we stopped in the Black Hose on the way down which was good! We will have to do the walk again when the horse box bar is open!
