Winter walk

A cold but beautiful day so we decided to take advantage of the fact that I dont have lectures today to take a walk along the Monarch Way to the Bathurst Arms in North Cerney. Some of the walk follows the River Churn so we were very grateful for the frozen ground - on a wet day it would have been a very different walk across the water meadows! There were a couple of places where they are doing some significant tree clearing and it was really good to see the notices explaining what they were doing and why! We had lunch at the pub and then caught the 51 bus (remember that from Saturday?) back into Cirencester to do some more Christmas shopping. Back home later in the day to see the allotments opposite our house in the afternoon sun - what a lovely day.
